Job and Resource Accounting

Tagg Associates has developed a number of specialized resource and transaction accounting systems utilizing IBM's System Management Facility database (SMF). These data are created by IBM operating systems to provide information on the resources used by jobs run on their mainframes. Based on a common framework, named the Universal Accounting System, these systems were developed for Pace Applied Technology to account for resources used by jobs and transactions executed under DB2, CICS, IMS, IDMS, NetView, and VM.

Accounting systems, like other legacy systems, store their data in flat files on the mainframe and produce extensive reports that don't pinpoint the information needed by the user. Some of these data can be selectively moved to a relational database, then made accessible through a web application that produces dynamic reports and graphs based on database queries from a user's PC. The migration of legacy application information to the web increases its availability and usefulness.

Based on its extensive experience with resource accounting systems, Tagg Associates can develop web-based systems to move accounting data, or any legacy system data, from a flat file to a relational database to provide user friendly access to the data via a PC.
